Sandra Bullock makes first appearance since the news of her husbands affair

For the first time in more than two weeks since the news broke of her husband’s affair, movie star Sandra Bullock made a public appearance. Unfortunately, instead of accepting an award or showing off at a movie premiere, Bullock was photographed covering her face while being hassled by a group of paparazzi.

Wearing a large hat and draping a coat over her head, The Blind Side star tried to slump down in the seat of her chauffeured Mercedes-Benz to escape the madness.

“When you’re at your most vulnerable or least tolerant, that’s when the paparazzi come after you,” Lt. Jeff Dunn, who runs an anti-stalking unit for the Los Angeles Police Department told ABC News.

Meanwhile, her husband Jesse James, who was recently busted having an ongoing affair with a fetish model, faces a vandalism charge after allegedly damaging the car of a photographer who was apparently stalking him in Los Angeles. James, who is currently in rehab for sex addiction, has since been accused of cheating on Bullock with three other women over the past few years.

Although the National Ledger reports that James’ friends are referring to him as a “broken man” who is desperate to rekindle his relationship with his movie star wife, various media reports indicate that a divorce is imminent.

Dwight Gooden arrested after crashing car in New Jersey

Former New York Met ace Dwight Gooden was arrested in New Jersey on Tuesday after being involved in a two-car accident in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

Gooden, who won the 1985 Cy Young Award at the age of 20, was placed into police custody after crashing his vehicle, with his five-year old son sitting in the passenger seat, while being under the influence of drugs.

The former Met and Yankee great faces a slew of charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, driving under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and reckless driving, CNN reports.

Gooden, 45, has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, not to mention an extensive criminal record. The three-time World Series champion most recently pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless driving in 2002 and driving with a suspended license a year later. He also did a stint in prison in 2006 for drug charges.

In November of last year, Gooden discussed his substance abuse problem with the New York Daily News and wrote a book describing his 20-plus year addiction.

“I’m not out to prove everybody wrong,” he told the news source. “I’m taking it day by day. I’m clean and sober and just trying to make good choices for me and my family.”

New Jersey Nets guard walks away unharmed after one-car accident

Late last month, New Jersey Nets star Keyon Dooling received an assist from the Closter Police Department after crashing his Infiniti sports utility vehicle during one of February’s most violent snowstorms.

The Nets backup point guard was on his way to practice on February 25 when he hit an ice patch, slid over the curb and blew one of his tires before colliding with a stop sign, according to NJ.com. Ironically, the Nets had cancelled practice just minutes before Dooling’s accident due to the inclement snowstorm, but he had left early to try to beat the weather and was not home to receive the call.

“I have to get here at least two hours before practice to get my body going,” laughed the veteran, who has been bit by the injury bug during each of his four stops with NBA teams.

Luckily for Dooling, who walked away unharmed after the accident, the Nets sent an intern driving a GMC SUV “with some good old American muscle” to pick up the club’s second leading assist man.

Dooling indicated to reporters after the accident that he planned to ditch his SUV for a Ford pickup, which is better equipped to handle the winter conditions in New Jersey.

Sandra Bullock’s husband involved in highway dust-up with the paparazzi

Just a few days after being forced to publicly admit his near year-long affair with a notorious former stripper, bad boy celebrity Jesse James was recently caught on tape fleeing the paparazzi in his black Dodge pickup in a wild chase taken right out of a movie script.

James, who is the host of the television program Monster Garage and the owner of West Coast Choppers, was busted last week for cheating on his wife of many years, actress Sandra Bullock.

Soon after the news of the affair hit the Hollywood press, local paparazzi have been camped out around Bullock’s mansion, where James currently resides by himself.

On Saturday, in an effort to evade the swarming paparazzi while driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, James reportedly increased his speed to more than 90 miles per hour, Entertainment and Showbiz News reports.

“At one point, he went off road into the dirt and made this huge dust bowl,” an eyewitness told E News. “It was crazy.”

James then allegedly took a hard right down a dirt path, throwing his custom-built spare tire from the back of his pickup before peeling into his garage, according to the Examiner.

Local Montana musician rescued after harrowing ordeal

On Sunday, a 67-year-old country musician was rescued after spending four days trapped in his 1996 Cadillac STS.

Louis Rogers, who has played guitar alongside a number of country music legends, including Merle Haggard and George Jones, was writing a goodbye letter and preparing himself for death when a couple stumbled across the his immobilized vehicle on a back road in Montana, according to the Associated Press.

Four days previous, Rogers was on his way to Calder, Idaho, when he decided to take a shortcut across the Bitterroot Mountains. After driving for about nine miles on the remote mountain road, the Lakeside, Montana, resident got his Cadillac stuck in a snow bank and was unable to remove it.

With no cell phone service, and being in admitted poor health, Rogers was forced to wait and see if he would ever be found. At one point, a low flying airplane passed right by the 67-year-old’s vehicle, but the repeated flashing of his headlights was unable to attract the pilot’s attention.

After several frustrating days and intolerably cold nights, Rogers had given up.

“I thought before I lose my bearings or start hallucinating, I’m going to write my last letter and tell my last goodbyes to my friends and relations,” said Rogers, soon after being rescued. “I told them to have faith in the Lord and don’t go cracking up because we are going to see each other again.”

Unfortunately for the country musician, more than 200 friends and relatives spent the weekend searching for him in a totally different location, as they were unaware of his decision to take a shortcut.

Luckily for Rogers, after several days with no food and only melted snow to drink, he was found by Scott and Penny Kalis, a local couple out for a drive in their four-wheel drive vehicle.

“She said, ‘Well, what are you doing way up here?'” Rogers said. “I said, ‘Dying, and if you don’t believe it, here’s the proof, and I showed her the letter.'”

Surprisingly, Rogers did not need to be hospitalized after the ordeal, and was up and running after just a few days of rest.

Report: Woods to return to the PGA in two weeks

Nearly four months after crashing his Cadillac Escalade outside of his home in Windermere, Florida, Tiger Woods has begun planning his return to the golf course.

On Thursday, the New York Post reported that the world’s number one golfer will begin his comeback in two weeks at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando.

The paper quoted two unnamed sources that said Woods has hired former presidential press secretary Ari Fleischer, who worked for George W. Bush, and most recently helped Mark McGuire orchestrate his return to professional baseball.

“[Woods and Fleischer] were in his living room this week going over a strategy for how to handle Bay Hill in two weeks,” said one source. “I would be shocked if he didn’t play the Arnold Palmer.”

Woods, who publicly admitted his multiple infidelities last month, has spent the last few weeks at a sexual rehabilitation clinic, and has only been seen on the golf course a handful of times since Thanksgiving.

Many commentators have speculated that Woods would return to the PGA at Bay Hill, as he has won the tournament six times since 2000.

Carl Edwards gets a slap on the wrist after wrecking Brad Keselowski

On Tuesday, NASCAR veteran Carl Edwards was placed on three weeks probation for deliberately wrecking Brad Keselowski’s number 12 Dodge at last weekend’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

In the NASCAR world, Edwards’ punishment is actually being looked at as rather light, as he admitted to purposefully spinning out Keselowski as an act of retribution.

Early on in the race, the four-time Atlanta champion was bumped from behind by Keselowski, sending Edwards’ car careening into the wall, essentially ending his day.

However, after sitting in the garage for over an hour, and falling 153 laps behind the leaders, Edwards drove his car out of the shop and back on the racetrack with vengeance on his mind.

Edwards spent over a lap attempting to chase down Keselowski, who was running in the top ten at the time of the “accident.” After Edwards made contact with Keselowski’s Dodge, the car went airborne and smashed into the catch-fence while inverted. Fortunately, no injuries occurred, but the harrowing scene made some commentators believe that Edwards would be suspended.

Keselowski’s Penske Racing teammate Kurt Busch won the race, his first victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Did Tim Tebow’s entourage steal Darrell Waltrip’s car?

Last Sunday, retired NASCAR driver and current Fox Sports analyst Darrell Waltrip flew home to Nashville to discover that his black Lexus sports utility vehicle had been stolen – sort of.

When Waltrip made his way out to the parking lot of the private Tennessee airport, he noticed that a similar looking black Mercedes SUV was parked right next to the vacant spot that had once held his automobile.

“I went back inside and said, ‘Guys, somebody stole my car,'” said Waltrip. “Everybody had this sheepish look. This one kid said, ‘DW, I think I know where your car is.'”

As it turned out, a few hours before the NASCAR legend arrived back at the airport, Florida quarterback Tim Tebow landed with his entourage, which included his brother, his agent and Will Bartholomew, head the Nashville-area training facility, D1 Sports,. The group had just returned from the 2010 NFL Combine where Tebow had worked out for professional scouts and coaches.

Bartholomew, who was the last one of the group to leave the airport, was told to take Tebow’s agent’s car and meet everybody back at the D1 campus.

Unfortunately, Bartholomew walked up to Waltrip’s Lexus – which was unlocked – hit the pushbutton-start ignition switch, and hit the road behind the Florida quarterback and the rest of his party.

Luckily for the Tebow clan, Waltrip found humor in the situation and even considered reporting the car stolen as a gaffe.

“I was going to call the police, have them pull (Tebow) over and scare the fire out of him.” Waltrip laughed, according to the Tennessean.

“I wanted them to tell him they knew he was a fine Christian boy, but that he just couldn’t steal people’s cars,” he added. “My wife told me that would embarrass him and that I didn’t want to do that to him.”

After Bartholomew learned what happened, he returned NASCAR analyst’s Lexus the next day.

And what lesson did Darrell Waltrip learn? “Don’t leave your car unlocked. Because you never know what celebrity might take it.”

Jeff Bridges bounced from Hyundai ads airing during the Oscars

Owners of used Hyundai models in New Jersey may hear an unfamiliar voice while watching the Oscars this Sunday. Actor Jeff Bridges, who has been doing voiceovers for Hyundai commercials since 2007, has been told that he cannot appear in any advertisements that air during the Academy Awards, because of a rule prohibiting nominees and award presenters from doing so.

Unfortunately for the Korean automaker, they were unaware that Bridges, who is nominated for Best Actor for his role in Crazy Heart, would be prevented from doing voiceovers for the seven different commercials that they had planned to run during the Oscars.

According to USA Today, Hyundai was forced to hire several last minute replacements to sub in for Bridges, including Catherine Keener, Kim Basinger, David Duchovny, Richard Dreyfuss, Michael Madsen, Mandy Patinkin and Martin Sheen.

A 30-second spot in the Academy Awards’ broadcast is estimated to cost between $1.3 and $1.5 million, Auto Week reports. Hyundai has confirmed that Bridges will return to his usual position as spokesman following the awards ceremony.

Those interested in used Hyundai models may want to take a look at the Sonata, one of the more popular used sedans on the road today.

Naomi Campbell involved in alleged assault case

Supermodel Naomi Campbell will likely not face charges after her driver told New York police on Tuesday that she assaulted him while he was driving her Cadillac Escalade.

The 27-year-old driver claimed that Campbell slammed his head into the steering wheel of her SUV while the car was in motion, according to the Associated Press. The driver, whose name has not been released, reportedly had a small bruise and some swelling under one of his eyes.

Campbell was not at the scene when police arrived and has yet to speak with the authorities regarding the matter. The 39-year-old will most likely not face any legal trouble though, as the driver decided not to file any criminal charges. It is still unclear whether he will pursue the matter in civil court.

This week’s incident is not the first time that Campbell has shown up on the radar of police because of her temper. In 2008, the British supermodel was sentenced to 200 hours of community service after pleading guilty to assaulting two police officers at an airport. She was also forced to attend anger management classes after throwing a cell phone at her housekeeper in 2007, according to The Washington Post.
