Honda Creates A Record-Breaking Float For Rose Parade

When Jan. 1 finally arrives, the 125th annual Tournament of Roses Parade will be ready to ring in 2014. The upcoming celebration will feature at least one record-breaking float, as Honda is poised to create a unique entry that will lead the procession.

The float, which has been named “Keeping Dreams on Track,” will measure 274 feet, which is the longest ever. It will also be 30 feet tall at its highest point and 18 feet wide, with a weight of about 50 tons. Currently, the record for largest float is held by another Honda entry from the 2005 parade. That float was 207 feet long.

This year's entry will also feature nearly 9,000 flowers decorating the outside, including 5,900 roses, 2,500 carnations and 580 gerberas. Other plants, flowers and seeds will be used to detail the float and carry out its theme, which focuses on the friendship between the U.S. and Japan. Powering the vehicle will be a Honda hybrid engine.

“Keeping Dreams on Track is an embodiment of Honda's deeply rooted philosophy, The Power of Dreams, as well as Honda's passions toward following those dreams to guide and inspire us to make a difference,” said Stephen Morikawa, assistance vice president of American Honda Corporate Community Relations.

With a little help, you too can keep your dreams on track and locate the perfect vehicle for your needs. NJ State Auto Auction is the ideal place to look for your next car, as it boasts a wide selection of CARFAX-certified cars, trucks and vans. Ford Is The Best-Selling Auto Brand In The US

Even with so many makes and models to choose from, American drivers are largely drawn to a few major brands. One of those is Ford, which is poised to remain the top-selling brand in the country for the fourth consecutive year.

Leading the pack was the Ford F-Series. The trucks, available in a variety of sizes and styles, are consistently at the top of the segment. However, that was not the only section of the Ford company to excel – in fact, the brand saw success across all types of models, including the Mustang, Fusion and Focus.

"The great news is that we are not overly reliant on any one segment – we're seeing double-digit sales growth in cars, trucks and utilities," said John Felice, vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service for the brand. "The Ford brand has had more retail share growth than any other brand in the country, with our most significant gains coming from import-dominated coastal markets."

In total, more than 2.4 million Ford vehicles were sold throughout the 2013 calendar year, outpacing second-place Toyota by nearly 400,000 automobiles. That represents a 15 percent increase over the number of cars sold last year, and the brand only looks to continue growing in the coming years – leaving many opportunities for drivers to get behind the wheel of one of the brand's creations.

Anyone looking for Ford vehicles can head to New Jersey State Auto Auction. The lot is home to hundreds of CARFAX-certified cars, trucks and vans from a variety of automakers, ensuring drivers have plenty of options to choose from. These affordable vehicles are ideal for any number of motorists and could be a great investment.

Honda Vehicles Offer Best Fuel Economy, Report Shows

Fuel economy is one of the most important factors to consider when shopping for a used car. While this varies from model to model, drivers frequently rely on a brand's reputation to influence their decision. Automakers that have traditionally produced vehicles with excellent mileage tend to seem more owner-friendly than others, and as a result, many prospective buyers consider them when trying to find used cars.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently released a report titled “Light-Duty Automotive Technology, Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Fuel Economy Trends: 1975 Through 2013.” The research detailed in the study focuses largely on the efficiency of vehicles throughout the country, and the results could shine a light on the best investment for drivers on a budget.

According to the EPA, the fleet of vehicles from Honda has the best average fuel economy. Its lineup boasts an average of 26.6 mpg, which is 0.10 mpg better than second-place Mazda. Despite the fact that these two manufacturers are close, Honda's number may be more impressive: the automaker produces more large vehicles and SUVs than Mazda, so the fact that its fuel economy stays high is noteworthy.

Fuel economy wasn't the only area where Honda exceeded expectations. Its vehicles also had lower carbon dioxide emissions than any other lineup, and the lineup also led all others in the number of IIHS Top Safety Pick+ vehicles.

New Jersey State Auto Auction is home to hundreds of CARFAX-certified vehicles. Whether you're looking for cars, trucks or vans, you can search through plenty of options, many of which offer excellent fuel economy, safety features and other highly sought-after amenities. With so many options for drivers in need of a used car, this auction lot is the place to go to find your next investment.

Toyota Prius Named The Best Value By Consumer Reports

The value of a vehicle can be difficult to judge. Prospective buyers have to balance the initial price tag with the cost of fuel, insurance, loan payments and potential auto repair or maintenance expenses. That's all in addition to elements like personal style, technology and performance, and combining all of these qualities into one vehicle can be extremely difficult.

To help drivers judge value, Consumer Reports releases an annual report detailing the vehicles that offer the best value. For the second year in a row, the Toyota Prius topped the list, thanks in large part to its impressive fuel economy. It also offers a low rate of depreciation, ensuring that motorists who are trying to find used cars like this hybrid are getting plenty bang for their buck.

"The Prius' 44 mpg overall is the best fuel economy of any non-plug-in car that Consumer Reports has tested," said Rik Paul, Consumer Reports' automotive editor. "Though it's not particularly cheap to buy, the Prius' depreciation is so low that it costs less to own over the first five years than its initial MSRP. We call that a bargain."

Also ranking highly was the Honda Fit. This vehicle generally offers a low initial price, but its dependability, fuel efficiency and safety features make it a worthy investment. The brands that achieved the best results include Subaru and Mazda, both of which had a number of high-ranking automobiles land among the top choices.

Mazda Models Offer Top Fuel Economy

Many qualities have to be considered as drivers shop around for a used car. Motorists almost always rank fuel economy highly on their wish-lists, and finding brands with impressive track records in this area becomes incredibly important.

According to a report from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Mazda topped all other brands with regard to average fuel efficiency of its vehicles. The brand boasts an average fuel economy of 27.1 mpg, which was about half a mile ahead of second-place Honda. Although the actual efficiency will vary from car to car, knowing that the brand has a strong reputation for excellent mileage, saving drivers money consistently throughout its life.

Other manufacturers with high ratings include Volkswagen, Toyota and Subaru. All of those automakers have an average fuel economy of more than 25 mpg, providing drivers with plenty of options. Many of these automobiles have been improving for the past several years, which means that even models that are several years old offer great value for drivers.

"While other manufacturers have turned their attention to hybrids and electric cars, we chose to focus on perfecting the base technology used in more than 90 percent of the cars and SUVs sold today: the internal combustion engine," said Jim O'Sullivan, CEO of Mazda North American Operations. "… Mazda has been able to achieve class-leading fuel economy in nearly every segment it competes in, and bring that technology – at an affordable price – to every customer."

Shoppers Show Their Affinity For The Ford Mustang

Few cars can remain relevant after decades on the road. However, not all vehicles are the Ford Mustang, which has consistently ranked as one of the most sought-after automobiles on the market. In fact, Cars.com, which provides information on used cars, recently released the results of its annual Shoppers' Choice Awards, and the timeless muscle care was its 2013 winner.

Each year, the accolade is given to a vehicle that prospective buyers rate as one of the top options. Qualities like dependability, appearance, fuel efficiency, maintenance and longevity are all considered, as the award is given to a model that delivers throughout the years. To win, a vehicle must receive great reviews and get intense interest from car shoppers.

"The Ford Mustang remains a favorite among shoppers," said Patrick Olsen, editor-in-chief of Cars.com. "In its 50th year of production, the Mustang continues to be a sports car icon, and perhaps Ford's most recognizable car ever. It is an American classic beloved by so many Americans, and the devotion to that car showed in the voting results."

Olsen also noted that this is not the first time the Ford Mustang has appeared on the list. The sports car won the award in 2010 and has found itself among the finalists several times, showing that shoppers have consistently ranked the model as one of the top vehicles on the market, regardless of year. For 2013, the vehicle beat out models like the Chevrolet Camaro, Honda Accord, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 for the top prize.

Ford's Mustang is just one of many sports cars or similar appealing vehicles that drivers may want to consider when shopping for a used car. Luckily, New Jersey State Auto Auction has plenty of options that can satisfy any motorist. With hundreds of CARFAX-certified models, including from cars, trucks and vans,

Drivers Use Word-Of-Mouth Recommendations To Suggest Auto Brands

When drivers are shopping around for a used car, they typically look at qualities like fuel efficiency, safety features and maintenance costs. Another overlooked aspect of the browsing process is recommendations from others. That is why the Boston Consulting Group put together the Brand Advocacy Index, which looks at the levels of advocacy and user recommendation among different products.

"Consumers are positively recommending the most recommended brands to their friends, family and coworkers – often spontaneously and even when they are not customers of the brand," said Steve Knox, the co-author of the study. "Their strong financial results show the power of advocacy to drive top-line growth."

Within the auto industry, Honda, Hyundai and Kia ranked among the top brands. While the average for the auto industry was about 50 percent, those three Asia-based automakers had the highest scores for the U.S. at 63 percent in the brand ratings. Owners of those three vehicles generally liked their investment and passed on word-of-mouth recommendations to others, which frequently encouraged fellow motorists to look into the brands and survey their options.

"Our top position in word-of-mouth recommendation rankings of auto brands in the U.S. is attributable to positive customer experiences and our brand image," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president at Kia Motors America, as quoted by Business Korea.

When someone recommends a specific brand or type of car, it may pique your interest. That is where NJ State Auto Auction can come into play. Hyundai Named The Most Reliable Auto Manufacturer

Finding a dependable vehicle is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to buy a used car. In fact, it is one of the biggest factors for drivers, and it can certainly sway someone from one automobile to another. For the third year in a row, CarMD has created the Manufacturer & Vehicle Reliability Rankings to help motorists zero in on the most dependable models, and the findings may impact the car-shopping process for many buyers.

When it comes to reliable automakers, Hyundai topped the list. The South Korean brand had the lowest ratio of reported incidents per cars on the road, and it also boasted a relatively low average repair cost of $312.67. Hyundai's first-place finish was an improvement on the past two years, when it came in second place, and its success pushed the reigning champion Toyota into the No. 2 spot. Toyota also had few reported problems on the roads, but its average repair cost was considerably higher – it clocked in at more than $540, which was the highest of the top 10 brands.

Completing the top five in the list of the most dependable manufacturers was General Motors, Chrysler and Honda. GM featured the lowest average repair cost at $304.99. Despite the success of those brands, the rankings of individual models featured some other vehicles. Although the Toyota Camry was found to be the most reliable edition, Nissan stole the show after it managed to land five automobiles in the top 10. The Altima came in at No. 2, and multiple models of the Rogue and Sentra also landed on the list.

Drivers searching for reliable models can check out the vast selection at New Jersey State Auto Auction. That lot boasts hundreds of CARFAX-certified cars, trucks and vans, and many of those options are dependable, high-quality vehicles that will help keep repair costs low.

Best-Selling Vehicles Vary Across The Country

When drivers set out to shop for a car, they are usually drawn to options that fit their needs. That could include anything from shuttling around a family to completing heavy-duty construction, but no matter what, the vehicles typically have to come with features that allow owners to handle their responsibilities. For that reason, the most popular automobiles differ in all regions of the U.S., and some new research looked into which vehicles stand out from the rest.

Business Insider asked Kelley Blue Book to collect data regarding the top-selling vehicles in each state. The results showed that people across the country have different tastes, and although many of the differences can be attributed to geography and lifestyle, there are some noticeable trends that come to the forefront.

Although the Ford F-Series was the most popular option across much of the country, including in Pennsylvania and Delaware, things were a bit different in the Northeast. In New York and New Jersey, for example, the Honda Accord was the top-selling option. With hybrid editions, excellent fuel economy and an array of special features, the Accord is one of the most attractive sedans in the U.S.

Other states in the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic had the Honda CR-V, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry as the top-selling vehicles.

You can find the perfect used car for your needs at New Jersey State Auto Auction. The lot has hundreds of CARFAX-certified cars, vans and trucks, all from a variety of manufacturers and in a range of styles. Many of these options could be the perfect choice to meet your needs, so you may want to consider stopping by the auction lot to check out the selection.

Hyundai Earns Distinction As A Best-Value Brand

Drivers shopping around for a used car are typically on the lookout for value. Finding options with great features at a manageable price is of the utmost importance for motorists, especially those who are on a budget. That is why some organizations go above and beyond to look at qualities like price and ownership experience to determine which automobiles offer the best value to drivers.

Strategic Vision did just that, and it recently released the winners of its Total Value Awards. These accolades were created to honor those vehicles that provide drivers with the most bang for their buck, and for the first time in the 18 years of the study, Hyundai came out on top. The brand was acknowledged as one of the best for its combination of reliability, durability, fuel economy and pricing.

A few specific models stood out for the Asian brand. Specifically, the Hyundai Equus took the lead among luxury cars, while the Sonata, Genesis Coupe and Elantra also claimed the 'Most Valuable' title for each of their respective segments. Although other brands like Chevrolet and Ford also landed on the list with certain vehicles, none of those automakers had the same impact as Hyundai.

"Hyundai continues to offer customers the highest-quality products, packed with premium technologies and best-in-class safety features," said Mike O'Brien, a vice president at Hyundai Motor America. "Awards like this from Strategic Vision reflect our hard work and commitment to customer satisfaction and value."

Whether you're looking for a used Hyundai or any other vehicle with excellent value, you should head to NJ State Auto Auction. The lot is home to hundreds of CARFAX-certified cars, trucks and vans, all of which combine affordable prices with attractive features.
