Visit An Adult Arcade
Relive your childhood with a fun and exciting date night at Barcade. This adult-friendly arcade allows you to drink your favorite beverage while enjoying various video games at 163 Newark Ave. It opens at 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and at noon on Friday through Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, you can have fun until 3 a.m. The rest of the week, it closes at 2 a.m. Come and enjoy their happy hour specials starting at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
You can enjoy classic video games and pinball machines during your time in the bar. Some games include Asteroids, Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong, Halloween, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Ms. Pac-Man. The pinball themes include Rocky and Bullwinkle, Godzilla, Rush, and Star Trek. All of the games run on tokens that cost a quarter each. None of the machines accept change.
The food menu is designed to keep you energized between games. There are options to share if you want a snack, such as the deviled eggs with a classic filling or chips and salsa. It also has the JC Nachos and hummus available for small bites. If you’re interested in a sandwich, it has a vegan veggie burger, a Cubano, and a cheese steak wrap.
One of the more unique offerings that you’ll enjoy is the mac ‘n pork, which combines macaroni and cheese with pulled pork topped with barbeque sauce and green onions. Are you curious how you would handle a situation under pressure together? Try an escape room game. These controlled environments offer a variety of scenarios for you to work together. You can test your skills while enjoying yourself in Jersey City at Puzzle Out, located at 317 Grove St. It’s open until midnight, seven days a week. The games take 60 minutes; however, the whole experience takes 90 minutes, including a briefing and debriefing. Save time by booking online and filling out the required paperwork before you arrive.

The medium level offers a chance to play Grand Theft Jersey City, Haunted Estates, or the Scavengers. The most challenging theme is the Architects’ Studio.

It offers lunch Monday through Friday, anddinner service starts at 5 p.m. seven days a week. It also has brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. When the weather allows, you can dine outside to soak in the view of the water while relaxing during your meal.
The dinner menu includes several seafood options, such as the seafood tower, including oysters, shrimp, lobster, and clams. It comes in two different sizes. It also has day boat sea scallops and smoked salmon. If you’re looking for a non-seafood option, it has a prime ribeye, buttermilk baked chicken, and fennel-crusted pork chops. It also has five different kinds of pasta on the menu.
Make sure you round out the meal with dessert, including gelato and sorbet. Battello serves a chocolate tahini cake with mousse, dark chocolate sauce, and sesame brittle. Another dessert option is the warm apple torta with cranberry sauce and caramel corn. You can enjoy your dessert with hot tea, coffee, mocha, and espresso. The loose-leaf hot teas include Earl Gray lavender, English breakfast, and chamomile. A glass of wines and digestives is available to clear your palette.
